The Power of Testimony: 5 Day Devotional.

Day 1: Stepping Into the Unknown

Devotional

Fear of the unknown can paralyze us from experiencing God's best. When young people arrived at leadership camp, they faced uncertainty about their groups, coaches, and what lay ahead. Yet in their vulnerability, God met them powerfully. Sometimes our greatest breakthroughs come not when we feel prepared and confident, but when we're nervous and uncertain. God specializes in using our weakness as the perfect canvas for His strength. The students who felt most anxious about the unknown discovered they could hear from God and speak His words over others. Your uncertainty isn't a barrier to God's work in your life - it's often the doorway. When we acknowledge our need for Him, we create space for His power to be displayed. Don't let fear of what you don't know keep you from stepping forward. God is already in your tomorrow, preparing the way.

Bible Verse

'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' - Romans 8:38-39

Reflection Question

What unknown situation are you avoiding because of fear, and how might God want to meet you there?

Quote

The biggest one was when we were on the way up, me, Violet and Jansen, we were all in the car together, and we were, like. We were, like, stressing out about who we were in groups. We were a bit worried.

Prayer

Lord, help me trust You with the unknowns in my life. Give me courage to step forward even when I can't see the full picture, knowing You are already there.

Day 2: Finding Your Voice

Devotional

Many of us struggle with confidence, especially when it comes to speaking God's truth into others' lives. One student shared how difficult it was to talk to new people and pray for others. Yet through prophecy chair sessions, these same nervous young people discovered they could hear from God and deliver His messages with power. Your insecurities don't disqualify you from being used by God - they often qualify you. When we feel inadequate, we're more likely to depend on His strength rather than our own abilities. The Holy Spirit doesn't need your perfection; He needs your availability. That quiet voice you hear, that image that comes to mind, that verse that suddenly resonates - these could be God wanting to speak through you. Don't dismiss what seems small or simple. God often uses the most unlikely voices to deliver His most powerful messages.

Bible Verse

'When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.' - Acts 2:1-4

Reflection Question

How has God been trying to use your voice lately, and what fears are holding you back from speaking His truth?

Quote

I struggled a lot with my confidence. So probably that was quite hard. Like, talking to new people, praying for people. Just everything like, that was very hard.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, fill me with Your power and give me boldness to speak Your words. Help me trust that You can use my voice to encourage and build up others.

Day 3: Giving Your Whole Heart

Devotional

It's possible to love God while still holding parts of your heart back. One student honestly shared how they loved God but couldn't give their whole heart to Him until their camp experience. Perhaps you can relate - loving Jesus but keeping certain areas of your life, dreams, or fears just out of His reach. True transformation happens when we stop compartmentalizing our relationship with God. He doesn't want just Sunday mornings or crisis moments; He wants access to every corner of your heart. This includes your past hurts, future anxieties, secret dreams, and hidden struggles. When we finally open those locked rooms of our hearts, we discover that God's love is big enough to handle it all. The breakthrough comes not when we clean ourselves up first, but when we trust Him with our mess. Your whole heart - including the broken, scared, and uncertain parts - is exactly what God is asking for.

Bible Verse

'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.' - Acts 2:17-18

Reflection Question

What part of your heart are you still keeping from God, and what would it look like to surrender that area to Him today?

Quote

Before Young Lions, something that I found difficult was I couldn't really. I, like, I loved God, obviously, but I couldn't give my whole heart to him. And then when it came to Young Lions, like, I felt like there was moments when I was, like, giving everything.

Prayer

God, I want to give You my whole heart, not just the parts I think are acceptable. Help me trust You with every area of my life.

Day 4: Discovering Your God-Given Vision

Devotional

God has placed a unique calling and vision within you that goes beyond just being a good Christian. The mature students developed personal vision statements that captured God's specific direction for their lives - from being a 'mailman for the Holy Spirit' to spreading Christ's joy while lifting others daily. Your vision isn't about becoming famous or successful by worldly standards; it's about discovering how God wants to use your unique gifts, personality, and experiences to impact others. Some are called to preach, others to encourage, and still others to serve as conduits for God's love in everyday moments. The key is moving beyond just existing as a Christian to actively living out God's purpose for your life. This requires stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing the specific way God has designed you to make a difference. Your vision may seem small or ordinary, but when it's God-given, it has eternal significance.

Bible Verse

'Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."' - Acts 2:38-39

Reflection Question

If you removed the fear of failing, how would you live your life differently, and what vision might God be calling you to pursue?

Quote

She asked me, if I removed the fear of failing, would I live my life differently? And that really stuck with me because I was like, I would Live my life differently if I just removed fear and anxiety.

Prayer

Lord, reveal Your unique vision for my life and give me courage to step out of my comfort zone to fulfill it. Help me live as more than just a Christian.

Day 5: The Oil Never Runs Out

Devotional

The same Holy Spirit power that transformed nervous first-year students into confident leaders is available to you today. God's promise in Acts 2 isn't limited to a specific generation or group of people - it's for you, your children, and all who are far away. The oil of the Holy Spirit never runs out. Whether you're facing deep-rooted issues from your past, struggling with anxiety, or feeling stuck in your spiritual growth, God's transformative power is still flowing. You don't have to wait for a special camp or perfect circumstances. The Holy Spirit who gave those students prophetic words, breakthrough moments, and clear vision is the same Spirit living within you right now. The question isn't whether God's power is available - it's whether you're willing to step into it. Your breakthrough, your vision, your moment of transformation could be just one step of faith away. The oil is still falling, and it's falling on you.

How can you position yourself today to receive more of the Holy Spirit's power and presence in your life?

Quote

The oil of the Holy Spirit is still falling and it never runs out.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, fill me afresh today. I believe Your power is still available and Your oil never runs out. Transform me from the inside out.
